An Imp is the first thing a new agent learns not to underestimate. Small, red-skinned, horned, winged like a bat, with green eyes that glow in the dark — by every measure it looks like vermin. It is not. An Imp is agile past anything its size should allow, quick enough to slip a trained agent's guard, and dangerous precisely because it gets dismissed. Imps accompany stronger possessions: they nest in the cracks of a haunting, feed on the residue, and multiply in the dark. Set one Imp against a household and you have a nuisance; set a household against a nest of them and you have a warning that something larger is already inside. Report every sighting. The Nyack files are required reading before any agent's first infestation call.
