— INCIDENT SUMMARY — CLASSIFIED —
The Vane house has been 'haunted' since 1889 — every family in Boston knows the story, and half of them tell it wrong. In May of 1939 it quit being a parlor tale. Over four weeks the house threw silverware, played the pianoforte at three in the morning like it held a grudge, turned the family portraits to face the wall, and put the widow's nurse in Massachusetts General with a busted wrist. Noise brings the cops. Schedule brings Census. Charted against the Tally, every episode landed square inside a reincarnation transit window — the mansion sits on a congested delivery line, a thin spot where the Pull runs heavy and late. The culprit was no demon; it was a soul in Fugue — a child drowned in the house cistern in 1889, missing her scheduled Pull every cycle since. Each miss compounds. What Boston called a haunting was transit backlog. Agent Black's team didn't exorcise anybody — there was nothing to exorcise. A Charmer at 7 Hz settled the house enough to work, and the team put a rush on the missed Pull through the Atrium. At 11:52 p.m. on May 30 the activity quit mid-tantrum. The kid finally went where she'd been trying to go for fifty years. The family sold the house in June. The new tenants report one portrait still turns itself to the wall. Old habits.
— FIELD NOTES & PROTOCOL —
◇ Poltergeist activity that tracks Census transit schedules is not random — cross-reference the Tally first
◇ A soul in Fugue misses its Pull; each miss compounds — calm first (Charmer @ 7 Hz), expedite second
◇ Never classify as demonic on first report — three of four Boston 'hauntings' were transit backlog, not malice
◇ Case OPEN — the Vane house is on the quarterly watch list; one portrait still turns itself to the wall
